Compressing HDV With DivX - 20GB to 100MB

Description: Just a test clip. Shot on CanonHV20. Edited on iMovie. Compressed with HDV1080i50 with image size 480x270. Original file 20.34GB down to 712MB and then to the final 100MB with DivX. I could have compressed it even more to 40MB but the quality dropped right off. Not helped by the fact that most of it is filmed through a windscreen.

But this is only a rough test with the free version and i'm not so much interested in the quality (I reckon I can tweak that) but to compress from 20 GB to 100MB is pretty interesting. And it looks better on Daily Motion anyway. Don't forget - YouTube recommends DivX (yet they can't get it right). 07-08-28 10:56:27 _____________________________________________________
