Description: This was from 2004, if I recall correctly. I was there, at CBS studios in Hollywood. What an honor. They performed 2 songs, but only one made it on air that night. The second song was aired some days later. I'll have to find it in the archives (boxes of junk, piled and disorganized!) This was a great show. Roundabout! (I'll add the intro part and the night's advertisement, too, in two other uploads.) |

HagiaSophia ::: Favorites 2006-08-06 13:14:53 Roundabout is really nice with Rick on a non traditional piano. __________________________________________________
PrZemek44 ::: Favorites 2006-08-23 21:54:55 What were they thinking?! One of the best bands EVER on a show that nobody watches... I love this version, those guys rule! Always will! __________________________________________________
spikerooney011 ::: Favorites 2006-08-26 16:40:29 Embarrassing to hear them screw up due to lack of rehearsal near the end, but see the DVD, it was mostly great, but still rough edges. Superb musicians every one of them, peerless at their best. __________________________________________________
basslow91 ::: Favorites 2006-09-05 22:53:36 i love yes, but i think it wouldn't have killed them to shorten some of their songs, it made them sorta hard to listen to, which is why i tend to lean towards rush as favorite prog rock band __________________________________________________
gestalt242 ::: Favorites 2006-09-09 08:46:51 Spiker, what's the timepoint on that "screw up"? I'm missing it. Basslow? You gotta be kidding. No offense, but would it kill you to lengthen your attention span? Those songs are perfect the way they are. It comes to mind when the king said to Mozart, "There are too many notes in that piece. Just take some out." And the genius Mozart said "Which notes would you like me to remove." ask Geddy Lee how he feels about Yes compositions. __________________________________________________
Tarkus7 ::: Favorites 2006-09-09 21:09:00 gestalt242, I think it's at 3:58. Rick looks over at Alan, shakes his head, and laughs. __________________________________________________
p0llenp0ny ::: Favorites 2006-09-10 14:45:05 I used to watch this show. :) __________________________________________________
CastleStormer ::: Favorites 2006-09-16 01:28:26 Outstanding video and version of a classic song. __________________________________________________
rlozano ::: Favorites 2006-09-22 21:38:53 Wow, unreal! __________________________________________________
dandood2 ::: Favorites 2006-09-23 14:11:02 I love rush as well. But as far as the length of Yes songs... I find it gives me more reasons to go back and listen becuase I always end up hearing something I didnt notice before. __________________________________________________
JDChicago ::: Favorites 2006-09-25 17:56:56 They missed the change ..thats why Rick reacts....at 3:58. The only one who has the energy to play this is Rick. But I love the band! __________________________________________________
jimmyp37 ::: Favorites 2006-10-09 23:57:14 think of the years and mileage a tune like this has seen? Think how much music has changed? I know I am just another aging idiot but music today just does not have this kind of quality. How many bands sport about what... 5 virtuosos in them? Wakeman and Howe are just incredible musicians. So good the average person cannot comprehend what they are doing. Oh well. Time moves on I guess. __________________________________________________
sonicdeath10 ::: Favorites 2006-10-13 16:17:34 haha yeah, i can hear them mess up. It was pretty bad and noticeable, but that's okay. They are human, not music playing robots. __________________________________________________
overthehillsnfaraway ::: Favorites 2006-10-27 02:59:54 So weird to see a classic band like YES on Jimmy Kimbell. They are so above this. Nothing against Jimmy Kimbell, but these guys are legends. At least do Dave Letterman. Love YES though. __________________________________________________
overthehillsnfaraway ::: Favorites 2006-10-27 03:08:12 Rick is the one who screwed up, Einstein...review the video. Bass and guitar are on. __________________________________________________ |
