nuclearthreat545 ::: Favorites wtf is alda rod? 06-10-04 19:31:39 _____________________________________________________
Turbo617 ::: Favorites In stock form, there are two copper capsules inside that housing (Called an ALDA). They push on a rod that goes onto the injection pump and alters the fuel rate based on boost psi. Without the capsules inside the housing, I am pushing on the rod manually and affecting the idle RPM. This video is just for proof of concept for a Mercedes forum. 06-10-04 19:40:28 _____________________________________________________
ILoveKaters17 ::: Favorites It comes from German language and says: Absolut messende LadeDruck Anreicherung, which means: Absolutely measuring Boost Pressure enrichment. Absolutely in this contex means, that the outside air pressure is taken in consideration for the enrichment. 07-01-23 07:15:04 _____________________________________________________
stcbenz83 ::: Favorites basically the alda controlls the turbo's boost. Some people have even opted to remove their aldas compeltley 07-03-25 22:32:13 _____________________________________________________
Turbo617 ::: Favorites That's what I have done. No regrets about it. 07-03-25 22:47:23 _____________________________________________________
stcbenz83 ::: Favorites Better boost? i've contemplated takin it outa my 300D turbo, but its for sale and of course my euro 240D N/A has no turbo 07-03-26 00:34:17 _____________________________________________________
blackcat1134 ::: Favorites hey, I had a question on the ALDA or ADA on a N/A 300D, I adjusted it yesterday to notice a MUCH more smoother/somewhat quicker ride, defiently enjoying it much more, but does it come as a large decrease in MPG/Engine life? I haven't tested out my mileage now, but I assume it won't be too much? 07-06-04 16:59:33 _____________________________________________________
Turbo617 ::: Favorites It shouldn't affect it much at all. Modern diesel has much less energy than it did when these cars were made. Combine that with normal age/wear and pretty much every 300D on the road is making less power than it should. If the ALDA/ADA has never been touched before, I'd recommend that it be adjusted 1/4-1/2 turn CCW or until black smoke can be seen out the tailpipe. 07-06-04 22:15:05 _____________________________________________________
blackcat1134 ::: Favorites Thanks for the reply! I adjusted about two turns CCW or so, and noticed now very little smoke even at full throttle, however, before adjusting the ALDA/ADA, it was like a smoke stack! So, now I'm stumped! 07-06-04 22:48:27 _____________________________________________________
300DTURBO ::: Favorites I open the alda valve and got much power. they said if remove the alda or by pass the damage the engine is this trut? 07-06-21 16:42:24 _____________________________________________________
Turbo617 ::: Favorites No, you won't damage the engine by removing it. I've been running without mine for nearly a year without any problems. 07-06-21 21:57:08 _____________________________________________________ |
