| GIKiller ::: Favorites BEST SONG EVER Sum 41 rocks 07-06-04 10:40:43 __________________________________________________ | |
| Sum41own ::: Favorites yeh lazlobass, the last part of what you said is what i meant, just read what i put now and i didn't really make my point very clear lol 07-05-26 13:50:42 __________________________________________________ | |
| lazlobass ::: Favorites Like I said, they're in-ear monitors. pjfmnet is correct, many times there are also wedge and near-field (a speaker pointed backwards) monitors on the stage as a backup. the mix that is sent to the monitors is usually very close to the main mix, though often without vocal processing. The reason for this is that you must be able to hear what you sound like in comparison to the other instruments (dynamics, bpm) for everything to sound right. 07-05-24 23:00:45 __________________________________________________ | |
| pjfmnet ::: Favorites thats not quite true. most bands/artists use both. they have a monitor on stage as a backup if either the ear piece has a technical fault or theyre not happy with the mix mid-song and need to hear something else. so when they pull them out they can hear the monitors, rather than just noise coming from every direction 07-05-22 02:23:47 __________________________________________________ | |
| Sum41own ::: Favorites midihc, you make a good point, but those earplugs are used so that the person playing the instrument can concentrate on what they are playing and not what anyone else is playing, just makes it easier for them.I guess they serve as proper earplugs too though lol 07-05-19 15:14:16 __________________________________________________ | |
| midihc ::: Favorites hey just to clear up any confusion: those ear pieces probably serve 2 main purposes,earplugs so they dont go deaf, and as an in-ear monitor so they can get a mix of what is going on though a wireless connection... most amateur bands can't afford these things so they usually wear foam ear plugs which work fine 07-05-19 09:44:33 __________________________________________________ | |
| dying2live194 ::: Favorites its not its an ear piece so he doesnt go deaf all of them have them or at least they should the people around the front usually wear them too or they should also cause they can go deaf just as easy 07-05-17 22:34:00 __________________________________________________ | |
| Droist ::: Favorites Youre right, it's aan ear piece. And they use them so they do just hear themself when they play. With those they have no worries of ear injuries. 07-05-14 12:07:21 __________________________________________________ | |
| lazlobass ::: Favorites The real way to tell what it is would be to look at the stage. If there are monitors on the stage then it is probably ear plugs. If there are no monitors then it is almost certainly and in-ear monitor. 07-05-09 22:53:24 __________________________________________________ | |
